At Nuri Learning, I believe that meaningful progress begins with clarity. Every student learns differently, and for this reason, a structured and personalised approach is essential.

An Individualised Learning Plan (ILP) is a tailored academic framework designed specifically around a student’s needs, goals, and learning style. It provides a clear pathway for development, ensuring that each session is purposeful, focused, and aligned with long-term progress.

Why Personalisation Matters

No two students learn in the same way. Some require structure, others need confidence-building, and many benefit from targeted support in specific areas.

A standardised approach often overlooks these differences. An Individualised Learning Plan ensures that learning is:

  • tailored to the student’s level

  • adapted to their pace

  • focused on their strengths and areas for development

This allows students to progress more effectively and with greater confidence.

How the Process Works at Nuri Learning

At Nuri Learning, every plan begins with a Discovery Session, where the student’s current academic level is assessed in a structured and supportive environment.

Following this:

  1. A detailed understanding of the student’s strengths and areas for development is established

  2. A personalised learning plan is created, outlining clear goals and strategies

  3. Lessons are designed and adapted based on this plan

  4. Progress is monitored continuously and adjusted where needed

Learning plans are recommended every 3 months, allowing for regular review and refinement as the student develops.

What Does an Individualised Learning Plan Include?

Each plan is carefully structured and may include:

  • clearly defined academic goals

  • focus areas (e.g. reading, writing, communication, study skills)

  • recommended learning strategies

  • guidance on pacing and progression

  • feedback on strengths and areas for improvement

Importantly, the learning plan is written in a child-friendly format, allowing the student to understand their goals and actively engage with their progress. Students are encouraged to keep their plan with them and refer to it regularly, supporting independence, ownership, and a greater sense of responsibility in their learning.

The student is also actively involved throughout the planning process, alongside the parent. Where appropriate, the child is included in the discussion so that goals are mutually agreed and clearly understood. This ensures that the student is aware of their learning priorities and feels part of the process, which plays an important role in building long-term motivation, engagement, and accountability.

The Benefits for Students and Families

An Individualised Learning Plan provides:

  • clarity and direction

  • measurable progress

  • increased confidence and motivation

  • a structured and consistent approach to learning

For parents, it offers reassurance that their child’s education is being approached thoughtfully and strategically.

A Structured Path to Progress

At Nuri Learning, my goal is not only to support students academically, but to help them become more independent, confident, and capable learners.

An Individualised Learning Plan ensures that each student is guided with purpose, supported with care, and given the tools they need to succeed, both in their current studies and beyond.
