When children feel understood, supported, and inspired, learning becomes more than grades, it becomes growth, confidence, and excellence.

Hello Nuri Learners, I’m Andra, founder of Nuri Learning!

I am a King’s College London graduate in Psychology and Neuroscience, a European Licensed Clinical Psychologist, TEFL-qualified Teacher, Special Educational Needs Teacher, and provider of Educational Counselling and Learning Guidance.

Having lived and worked across both Europe and the Middle East, I have developed a deep appreciation for different cultures, languages, educational expectations, and family values. This international perspective allows me to support learners from diverse backgrounds with understanding, respect, and adaptability.

I created Nuri Learning to offer something more personal than standard tutoring, a place where academic support is combined with wellbeing, confidence, and high standards of learning. Every child learns differently. Some need encouragement, some need structure, some need specialist strategies, and many simply need to be taught in the right way.

My professional background combines psychology, education, inclusion, and child development, allowing me to support learners both academically and emotionally.

The services I offer include:

  • English Level Assessment

  • Individualised Learning Plans

  • English as a Second Language

  • Inclusive Learning Support

  • Educational Counseling

Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs

I strongly believe that every child can succeed when given the right support, patience, and teaching approach. A diagnosis should never define a child’s intelligence, potential, or future achievements.

During my experience as a Special Educational Needs teacher in Dubai, I worked closely with students with a range of additional learning needs, including those with dyslexia and dyspraxia. This allowed me to develop a structured and adaptable approach, using targeted interventions. For students who experience difficulties with literacy or coordination, I adapt methods to suit their individual learning style, ensuring that progress feels achievable and consistent.

Technology also plays an important role in my teaching. I use visual tools, interactive resources, and digital support to make learning more accessible, engaging, and easier to process. These tools can significantly support students in developing confidence and independence.

Children with additional needs often have unique strengths, talents, and ways of thinking that deserve to be recognised and nurtured. My role is to create a supportive and structured environment, remove barriers to learning, and help each child build confidence so they can thrive academically and personally.

English as a Second Language

I have worked with students from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds, including many Asian students whose first language uses a different writing system, such as Chinese (Pinyin/characters) or Japanese scripts. These differences can create challenges when learning English, particularly in areas such as spelling, sentence structure, and written expression.

In my teaching, I focus on building a strong foundation across reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while addressing these structural differences through clear, step-by-step guidance. I place particular emphasis on developing accuracy in writing, confidence in communication, and the ability to use English effectively in academic contexts.

For many students, English is essential for accessing international schools and universities, and I aim to equip them with the skills needed to succeed in these environments. I approach each student with an understanding of their background, ensuring that cultural and linguistic differences are supported and guided, rather than seen as a limitation.

Gifted and Talented Students

Supporting gifted and talented learners is an integral part of my approach at Nuri Learning. I have worked with talented students aiming for top academic performance, competitive school placements, and admission to highly selective institutions, including Ivy League universities.

For these students, I provide structured guidance, challenge, and strategic support tailored to their level and long-term goals. My focus is not only on refining academic skills, but also on developing critical thinking, independence, and a disciplined approach to high achievement.

Through my educational counseling services, I offer a step-by-step framework to help each student reach their full potential. This includes guidance with university applications, personal statements, and the development and management of a strong academic CV, ensuring that each student presents themselves with clarity and confidence.

My approach is designed to balance ambition with well-being, supporting students in achieving excellence while maintaining confidence, motivation, and a sustainable path to success.

Nuri Learning

At Nuri Learning, I believe true excellence is not pressure, it is helping each child develop their strengths, overcome barriers, and progress with confidence.

My aim is for children to leave sessions not only stronger academically, but more capable, motivated, and proud of themselves.
